In loving memory
My grandmother Josephine was the daughter of German immigrants, raised in Dubuque, Iowa with the values they carried across an ocean — hard work, quiet strength, and devotion to family. She spent her life beside my grandfather on the farm — rising before the sun, tending to what needed tending, and never once complaining. She was the kind of woman who held everything together quietly, and we didn't know how much until ovarian cancer took her from us.
This event is for her. And for every woman like her.
