I am fundraising in memorial of my dear mother, Dolores Harris. Mom was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in May of 2024, and after multiple rounds of chemo and an intense surgery, she unfortunately succumbed to her illness on November 18th, 2024, surrounded by her beloved husband, five children, sister, brother-in-law and son-in-law. I am fundraising because there is not enough resources available for women to detect this deadly disease early enough.
By fundraising in support of Ovarian Cancer Canada, I am standing hand-in-hand with the people experiencing, affected by, or at risk of the disease. And I will not rest until women are able to live their lives freely, fully, and uninhibited by ovarian cancer.
My event honours the lives of those who have been affected and demands action.
Proceeds support OCC, the only national charity dedicated to eradicating this disease. OCC is improving outcomes and changing the face of this disease – for good. And your donations will fuel vital research, advocacy efforts, and education and support programs.
Today, thousands of Canadian women are living with ovarian cancer. We know that ovarian cancer remains the most fatal women’s cancer in Canada and of the 3,000 women diagnosed annually more than half will not live 5 years past diagnosis. But we are on the cusp of breakthroughs that can change that.
You can help ignite change. Please support this event with a generous donation.
