Diane Deans was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in 2019, after a summer of not feeling well. At the time of her diagnosis, she said that she initially had a feeling of "why me?" but went on to think "why not me?" as so many people and families are affected by cancer. She went on to explain that Ovarian Cancer needed a champion and she felt that she could use this opportunity to raise awareness of the disease, as she fought a very public health battle. Together, we can work towards a future in which no one will lose their daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, niece, cousin or friend to this insidious disease.
