By fundraising in support of Ovarian Cancer Canada, I am standing hand-in-hand with the people experiencing, affected by, or at risk of the disease. And I will not rest until women are able to live their lives freely, fully, and uninhibited by ovarian cancer.
My fundraiser is a celebration of my latest clinical drug trial milestone. I am celebrating 2 years of being on a clinical drug trial for metastatic ovarian cancer.
To celebrate this milestone I will be running 33km and raising money for ovarian cancer research.
Why 33km? Because 3300 people are diagnosed with ovarian cancer every year in Canada. This is way I can celebrate this milestone in my clinical trial, and honour all the other patients in Canada and run for all those who can?t.
Today, thousands of Canadian women are living with ovarian cancer, and I am one of them. Ovarian cancer remains the most fatal women?s cancer in Canada and of the people diagnosed annually, more than half will not live 5 years past diagnosis. But we are on the cusp of breakthroughs that can change that.
You can help ignite change!
