I am participating in the Run for Her in support of Ovarian Cancer Canada, a fundraising trail run in support of Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity dedicated to overcoming ovarian cancer.  In April of this year I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer and am fighting it every day.

Approximately 3,100 Canadians are diagnosed with ovarian cancer each year.  Five Canadians are lost to the disease every day.  One out of every two people diagnosed with this disease isn’t expected to live to see another five years. The funds we raise for Ovarian Cancer Canada help champion the health and wellbeing of women living with and at risk of the disease, while advancing research to save lives.

Funds raised at the Run for Her for Ovarian Cancer Canada will be used to help build research capacity, unlock insights into rarer forms of the disease, address urgent needs and bring hope to people across the country.
