I am participating in the Beau's 5K for Ovarian Cancer Canada a fundraising event in support of Ovarian Cancer Canada. This year marks the 10th anniversary, and we are determined to ignite change. 

On June 8th, I will run to raise funds to advance progress against ovarian cancer – the most fatal women’s cancer in Canada.

As some of you may know, my mom - Margie was diagnosed with cancer in September 2024. She is facing this battle as she has faced every adversity in her life - with tenacity, bravery, and optimism. 

It's been a very trying and difficult 8 months. Watching the most powerful force of a woman battle daily has profoundly changed me.

I have felt helpless, but not hopeless. I saw this race as an opportunity to honour my mom's continuous battle and to get off my butt and train. It's only 5k, but I will run it like a marathon of a lifetime for my mom, and for all the women who have fought and are currently fighting women cancers.
