Today, thousands of Canadian women are living with ovarian cancer and another 3,000 will be diagnosed this year. Sadly, my great-aunt Paula died as a young mother of this terrible disease. I am named after Paula's mother, Irene, and so this cause holds a special place in my heart.
Today, I am raising funds and awareness to advance progress on ovarian cancer, and so that other kids don't lose their moms to ovarian cancer. Funds raised will help women with ovarian cancer and all women at risk of the disease live fuller, better, longer lives.

Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity dedicated to overcoming this disease. Ovarian Cancer Canada champions the health and wellbeing of women with ovarian cancer and those at risk for the disease, while advancing research to save lives. Funds will help further scientific progress, advocacy efforts and support programs.
