Ashley's Teal Army
Welcome to Ashley’s Teal Army!
The name was created by Ashley’s best friend, Amanda.
We are Ashley’s friends and family who are all participating in her memory. We’re hoping that the money raised will help find a cure to this terrible disease and help support the women who are living with it.
Ashley, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in January 2015, when she underwent surgery to remove a large mass that was attached to her ovary. The doctors originally not convinced she had cancer because she was only 30 years old, ovarian cancer is seen in women in their teens or over 50. The mass was cancerous and she wound up having a full hysterectomy.
On May 31, 2018, after 3.5 years of fighting, Ashley lost her battle
Ashley loved to run and wasn’t going to let major surgery or a little chemotherapy slow her down. That year her goal was to run 15 races, she completed 20!! She continued to run through her treatments (her last race was in January 2018) and was an inspiration to all.
On July 8th, we will run to raise funds and awareness to overcome ovarian cancer. Funds raised at the Beau's 5K for Ovarian Cancer Canada will be used to support Ovarian Cancer Canada's resources for women living with the disease, education and awareness programs and research grants and programs.
Thank you for your generous support.
