My story
My Journey with Stage One Ovarian Cancer: A Story of Hope and Awareness
In early summer of 2023, my life took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with stage one ovarian cancer. The news was overwhelming, and the path ahead seemed daunting. However, with the incredible support of my wife Julie best friend Ashley, longtime friend Wanda, Kaitlin, Pauline, Sue G and the amazing medical team at the Ottawa General Hospital, I embarked on a journey of treatment and recovery.
Over the next four months, I underwent six rounds of chemotherapy. Each session was a challenge, but it also brought me closer to the hope of a cancer-free future. I am grateful to say that I survived. Now, I am dedicated to turning my experience into a source of strength and awareness for others.
To raise awareness about ovarian cancer and the importance of early detection, I am walking. My goal is to share my story, encourage others to be vigilant about their health, and support those who are currently fighting this battle.
Walking has become a symbol of my journey—each step representing resilience, hope, and the power of community. Through this effort, I hope to inspire others to take action, seek regular medical advice, and support ovarian cancer research and patients.

Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity dedicated to overcoming this disease.
Thank you for your support. It means the world to me, and everyone affected by this disease.
