I will be walking for Hope - Hope for more research, hope for more lives saved and hope for our children's futures.
I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2019, high grade serous, stage III and underwent a radical hysterectomy and awoke to the words of "you have ovarian cancer" from my surgeon. I faced an aggressive regime of weekly chemotherapy for 4 months and maintenance iv therapy for 18 months. In 2022 my cancer returned, I was fortunate to find a surgeon who would do another major surgery to remove the cancer and I underwent another long regime of chemotherapy.
Currently, I am doing very well and have returned to a new normal, something I didn't think would be possible after my recurrence. I have HOPE for more time with family and friends and HOPE for the future. This has been made possible by Ovarian Cancer Canada. The advocating, research, and dedication to this disease is so incredibly appreciated.
I am planning to do my walk on my own in Fredericton. We currently do not have a Walk for Hope setup yet.
Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity dedicated to overcoming this disease.
