Supporting Shaun Hay and Team ShaunShine
This will be my ninth year on Team ShaunShine and year six without my dear friend, Shaun Hay, beside me as we continue to advocate for Ovarian Cancer research and education by doing a walk IN PERSON with other members of Team ShaunShine. As you know, Shaun was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer and in September 2018 she lost the battle from this "silent killer" to became an eternal ray of ShaunShine in our lives. Shaun had fight, strength, determination and faith like no other person I know. The love Shaun had for her daughter Stephanie was second to none and she will forever be an inspiration. So I want to continue to support Shaun and raise funds so this can be detected early and women of the future do not to worry about this silent cancer. Please consider donating a little or a lot because it all makes a difference and is truly appreciated.
In Canada today, there are 17,000 women living with ovarian cancer. Each of these women is central to a family, every one of these women have people who love her. This year, I am walking for HER.
I am walking because ovarian cancer affects communities. It’s certainly touched my life, and it needs to be stopped.
This walk is special to me because it honours women and families touched by ovarian cancer and celebrates the hope that I carry with me every day – the hope for a future without this disease.
Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity entirely dedicated to this important cause. Funds will be used to provide support, increase awareness and fund vital research.
Please support my Walk by giving generously. Better yet, if you are up for a challenge this September, please consider joining me. Together we can make a difference.
