In honour of Cathie ... Pam's page
Cathie was diagnosed with this most fatal of women's cancers in November of 2014. She faced the horrific disease with staggering bravery. Less than a year later, ovarian cancer took her life at 57.
With hope and the power of Cath's community we have raised awareness and donations of $37,000 to help Ovarian Cancer Canada in building research capacity, become a founding member of a global coalition and commanded a first ever federal government investment.
Here are some other highlights how our support has helped.
- Women at high risk of ovarian cancer are accessing genetic testing, understanding preventive opportunities, and getting appropriate follow-up care.
- Ovarian cancer research is advancing faster than ever before changing the landscape of available treatment options
- 25 projects funded that will set the stage for future discoveries
- Six potentially transformative clinical trials underway
- 13 innovative pre-clinical studies in the pipeline
- Ovarian cancer research consortium of 250+ members created
- National team of 20+ Patient Partners in Research created
- 75+ research personnel funded
