In 2014 I lost my wonderful aunt, Louise (Weezie) to ovarian cancer. During her illness, I learned a lot about this most serious women's cancer. For example, there is no early detection test for ovarian cancer, and outcomes have not changed much in the past thirty years.

Since then, my cousin Marina is involved with fundraising for Ovarian Cancer Canada and the Walk of Hope in Weezie’s honour. Every year I support Team Weezie.

This year's walk will take place on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at the Manual's River Trail.  I am looking forward to joining my family and friends for this year's walk.

As in previous years, I am also honoring my Mom, Juanita who I lost in 2019.  For years she was an avid Fundraiser. Remembering her enthusiasm and pure will power to get out there to support meaningful causes inspired me to follow in her footsteps and be involved. 

Supporting research and early detection for women with Ovarian Cancer will make a world of difference for them and their families.
