How your donation makes a difference!
I couldn't be prouder of the achievements Ovarian Cancer Canada (OCC) has made since I last asked for donations to my Walk team a year ago. I want to shine a light on just three of the areas where your financial support has made a difference.
First, your donations helped create OCC's Ovarian Cancer Prevention Task Force made up of experts from across the country. The best thing we can do to save lives today is prevent an ovarian cancer diagnosis. Our Task Force is busy conducting research and developing tools that help people assess their risk and have effective conversations with their family doctors to prevent this disease before it starts.
Second, your donations helped OCC advocate for research funding and invest in research projects to detect ovarian cancer earlier, treat patients better and ultimately eradicate ovarian cancer. You can visit this link to read more about the research projects we have funded - Research showcase - Ovarian Cancer Canada (ovariancanada.org)
Third, your donations helped create a resource that patients have called a 'life raft' following their diagnosis. "Understanding Ovarian Cancer: A Comprehensive Guide" provides accurate and up to date information at the time patients and their loved ones need it most. Developed by OCC in close partnership with a team of experts and those diagnosed, this guide is over 200 pages and helps support and inform patients at any stage of their ovarian cancer experience.
These are just three areas that OCC has worked tirelessly on during the past 12 months and with your continued support we will deliver even more as we work toward our vision of a future where ovarian cancer is preventable, curable and ultimately eradicated.
