Spilling The Teal on Ovarian Cancer
A day and a half later I was taken into surgery where they removed the 3.5lb tumor along with both ovaries and my uterus. When the pathology came back it was confirmed... It was cancer.
I was on of the lucky ones; diagnosed in stage one. How a tumor could grow to that size and not spread is nothing short of a miracle.
I am currently undergoing 6 cycles of chemotherapy in hopes that this disease never returns.
Ovarian Cancer whispers... With no reliable early screening and symptoms that can be easily overlooked, it's understandable how 50% of women diagnosed with the disease will not survive past the 5 year mark.
It's time to turn of the volume.
Thank you for your support. It means the world to me, and everyone affected by this disease.
