It's happy here
Hi! I’m Starla, thanks for stopping by.
I was diagnosed with a rare form of ovarian cancer in 2010. (subtype granulosa cell tumour)
I’ve had multiple recurrences, surgeries and chemo. And I’m currently nearing the end of treatment options.
I walk because I have a 6 year old son. He is smart, funny, amazing and he deserves to have his mom- for as long as humanly possible. I refuse to imagine a world where we aren’t together.
I walk because survival rates have not changed in over 50 years.
I walk because there is still no screening tool to detect it.
I walk because ovarian cancer is the most aggressive of cancers for those born with ovaries.
I walk because I’ve had too many friends die from this diease.
I walk for those diagnosed before me and after me.
But mostly I walk because I deserve better- WE deserve better.
On Sunday September 8th I’ll be walking in the walk of hope in Saskatoon - and I hope that you’ll join me.
Please consider walking with me and joining my team. You can also make a donation if walking isn’t an option.
You will automatically receive a tax receipt for any donation of $20 or more.
Thank you so much in advance and I hope to see you there!
