Hi I'm Andrea, a mom, wife, and (it still shocks me to say) an ovarian cancer survivor.
This year is huge—we are aiming to reach a total of $75,000 raised for the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope. A number that represents the sobering statistic that 1 in 75 women will face ovarian cancer in their lifetime.
In 2020, I became a “one in 75.” Now, here I am, approaching my five-year anniversary since diagnosis —a milestone that carries so much weight because it marks the critical period where the risk of reoccurrence still looms large. That's why, following my treatment, I founded Teal Good Inc., to raise awareness and money for Ovarian Cancer Canada’s Walk of Hope.
“One in 75” isn't just a slogan. It was my reality. Ovarian cancer, while not the rarest, is the deadliest female cancer. Every dollar we raise goes directly to Ovarian Cancer Canada to change this and break the devastating cycle of ovarian cancer on women and their families.
Many of you have donated, rallied, and shared your stories since we began. I hope you will do so again this year. Your support is the backbone of Teal Good Inc. Thank you for standing with me, for being part of this journey, and for helping to create a future where the "one in 75" is no longer such a death sentence.
Gratefully and hopefully,
Andrea
