Remembering my mom Sylvia
Hello friends and family,
Hope all is well with everyone and you are all having a great summer!
I will be walking again in Kingston this year at Lake Ontario Park to raise funds for Ovarian Cancer Canada in memory of our mom . My goal is to continue to recruit support for ovarian cancer canada to help with research on treatments and preventions for this devestating disease of women. There is much research happening and a whole lot of HOPE in finding treatments.
I encourage everyone to take a walk in their favorite place to support this walk and to remember the good times!
Today, thousands of Canadian women are living with ovarian cancer and another 2,800 will be diagnosed this year.
Each of these women is central to a family. Every one of these women has people who love her. Just being there to support and honor her means everything. That’s why I’m rallying with the community at the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope.
The Walk celebrates the hope I carry with me every day – the hope for a future without this disease.
Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity entirely dedicated to this important cause. Funds will be used to provide support, increase awareness, and fund vital research so that we can change the future for the women we love.
Much research needs to be done in order to improve outcomes of this disease. This research can include research into prevention, improved screening and genetic screening , improved diagnostic testing, improved treatments and improvements in palliative care.
Please donate generously so that none of the women in your life need to suffer with or die from this disease.
Better yet, if you are up for a challenge this September, come out and join me virtually of course. For those that can gather locally, I look forwards to a walkie with you all next year!. Together we can make a difference.
