Welcome to My Personal Page
I was diagnosed in 2015 with high grade Epithelial ovarian cancer. Ovarian cancer can certainly happen to anyone. I was a healthy 50 year old with no risk factors or family history. The surgery and the 6 rounds of chemo were hard, but perhaps even harder for me was coming to terms with the disease after the treatment was finished. The prognosis for women diagnosed with Ovarian cancer is pretty dismal. Learning to live with a disease that has a high rate of recurrence, but that you hope will never come back, is hard for people like me who don't deal with ambiguity very well. Now as a 9 year survivor, I am a healthy and happy 60 year old and I look to the future with hope.
By participating and fundraising for the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope, I want to draw attention to this disease. Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity dedicated to overcoming this disease.
I appreciate your support.
