The Road Les Travelled

I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in October 2021. I under went surgery and then began chemo which i had the joy of ringing the bell yesterday June 24 2022. i was very lucky to have had a wonderful family doctor that moved quickly. I was referred to Juravinski Cancer Center and Hospital in Hamilton. The care i received was amazing. The staff from the Lab, support staff, Nurses and the oncology Doctors made the whole experience easier if that is possible. Knowing they are my caregivers in the future makes it less scary.

I was blessed to have an amazing husband and children with equally amazing spouses that supported me through every step of the way. i also have 3 beautiful grand children that make you fight even harder.

To my extended family my brother and sister in law and my nieces and nephews that stepped in whenever called upon you helped make it less stressful.

The saying It takes a village is never a truer word spoken.

Today, thousands of Canadians are living with ovarian cancer and approximately 3,100 will be diagnosed this year. But today - we are paving the way for a brighter tomorrow.

Let’s raise the teal flag and show our support for the women and families affected by ovarian cancer. Together, our fundraising and participation in the Walk will spur advocacy efforts to provide the best possible care, further scientific progress, and ensure that all those diagnosed know that they are not alone.

That’s why our team is joining the thousands of other participants at the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope. Precious lives depend on it, and the community deserves it.

Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity dedicated to overcoming this disease.

Every step and every dollar create a brighter future for those affected by ovarian cancer.   Please consider donating to my Walk or register to join me!

Thank you for your support. It means the world to me, and everyone affected by this disease.
