In April 2023, I found out I had a large mass on my ovary and soon after it was confirmed I had ovarian cancer. It has been a real struggle with surgery and chemo but I am so fortunate it was found at an early stage. Most women aren't as lucky. More research needs to be done so we can have better treatments and ways to screen for this horrible disease before it has progressed. I am walking for all my teal sisters who have lost their lives, are just beginning their journey, are still fighting, are scared waiting for the day it comes back and those who have not yet been diagnosed.

Today, thousands of Canadians are living with ovarian cancer and approximately 3,100 will be diagnosed this year. It's time to accelerate progress against ovarian cancer. Enough is enough and I’m determined to improve outcomes for all those affected by the disease.
