For Kim
Today, thousands of Canadian women are living with ovarian cancer.
Each of these women is central to a family. Every one of these women has people who love her. Just being there to support and honour her means everything. That’s why I’m participating with thousands of others at the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope.
In June 2019, I lost my friend and colleague, Kim after a short, but courageous battle. Kim taught me a whole lot about a million different things, but most importantly, she taught me how to have strength when faced with challenges, and that for the most part, our everyday challenges, are not big problems. As the years go on, I think of her often, feel her strength and encouragement and continue to push through when things get hard, because that’s what Kim would have done. I am so excited to participate in the walk again this year, with her family and friends! I am celebrating and honouring her. I am walking for her.
Please give what you are able. You can be sure that every dollar will help change lives affected by ovarian cancer through research, advocacy, and support.
The Walk celebrates the hope I carry with me daily – the hope for a future without this disease.
Together we can make a difference.
