Welcome to My Personal Page
We started Team Pete eight years ago when our Mom and Grandma was first diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer. (Pete is what Olivia and Caitlin called Grandma when they were little!) She passed away on February 6 of 2022. We miss her very much.
Although we will be walking at the site closest to us, Ashbridge’s Bay, Toronto, we invite those of you that knew Mom/Grandma to help us honour her by taking a moment to think of her on Walk of Hope Day which this year is September 8, 2024. She would have liked that. If anyone is free that day and would like to walk with us (and Matilda, our Frenchie), the more the merrier!
Also, if anyone is looking for a charity to donate to this year, perhaps this would be one that is of interest to you. Every dollar raised supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity dedicated to overcoming this disease. Today, thousands of Canadians are living with ovarian cancer and approximately 3,100 will be diagnosed this year. Symptoms of ovarian cancer can include: bloating, difficulty eating, abdominal discomfort and changes in urinary habits. If you or someone you know notices symptoms that are new, and they persist for three weeks or longer, speak to your doctor about getting a CA-125 blood test, trans vaginal ultrasound, and pelvic exam. For more information, visit ovariancanada.org.
Take care and thanks for taking a moment on Sunday, September 8 to think of a person very special to us!
Josyane, Olivia, Caitlin and Matilda
