Welcome to My Personal Page
Today, thousands of Canadian women are living with ovarian cancer and another 2,800 will be diagnosed this year.
Patty and I met in kindergarten and were life long friends. We used to celebrate our birthdays and catch up for a coffee when we could, always starting where we left off.
Early in March,2020, I reached out to Patty to see if she needed her bangs trimmed as I once did on a 4 month trip we took. She shared her news of her recent diagnosis of Ovarian Cancer. It was made much worse with the beginning of COVID.
Patty was smart, kind, made you laugh till you hurt, and never forgot a memory no matter how embarrassing! She was my cherished friend and will live on in my heart forever.
I was so inspired last year when Patty's group of year 4 hygiene students organized a walk for Ovarian cancer. They included and inspired Patty with their enthusiasm and tremendous fundraising efforts. She was truly moved by their efforts. I will never forget what they did for my friend.
That’s why I’m participating with thousands of others at the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope.
The Walk celebrates the hope I carry with me every day – the hope for a future without this disease.
Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity that champions the health and well-being of women with ovarian cancer and others at risk of this disease. Funds will be used to fund vital research, spur advocacy efforts, and provide support so that we can help women with, or at risk of, ovarian cancer live fuller, better, longer lives.
