Welcome to my personal page. This is my eleventh year participating in the Ovarian Cancer Walk of Hope in Halifax. Last year, we crossed the $11,000 mark in fundraising, with a total of $11,595 raised to date. Thank you so much for your support in previous years. It means so much to me and my family.

I am asking for your support again this year as I get ready for the walk on Sunday, September 8th.

I am walking for my mom, Gloria Dean, who we lost to Ovarian Cancer in May of 2017 after a 4 year courageous battle. My mom faced this cancer with strength and dignity, and she lives in our hearts forever. Our motto for the run is "Go for Glo".  

I am also walking for a high school friend who is battling this disease today with incredible strength and determination.

I will also walk in memory of my friend's mother, who faced Ovarian Cancer with courage and grace. 

I am walking because raising money to find a cure is what my mom wanted. She went door to door each year even though she herself was very sick. 

Ovarian cancer affects so many families. Better detection methods need to be found to help the many women who learn of this diagnosis too late.

This walk is special to me because it honours women and families affected by ovarian cancer and celebrates the hope that I carry with me every day – the hope for a future without this disease. 

Every dollar I raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity entirely dedicated to this important cause. Funds will be used to provide support, increase awareness and fund vital research.
