Juanita's Team 4Ever
Juanita's Team 4Ever will be participating for the 3rd year in the Ovarian Cancer Walk of Hope on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at Spencer Smith Park in Burlington. Over the last 2 years our team has raised over $11,000 which has been incredible. I’m hoping to actually walk it this year as the first year I was recovering from surgery and last year I was in the hospital with CMV virus!
My journey with cancer began on November 11, 2021 when I was diagnosed with Stage 3C HG Ovarian Cancer and also found out that my family carried the BRCA 1 gene mutation and yes I have it! Shortly after my surgery I started chemo for 6 sessions and then had an ostomy reversal (It is a thing to name your Stoma - so I called it Stupid Stoma - lol - and that it was). I was grateful to have a reversal in Aug of 2022, only to have CMV Virus in Aug of 2023. I am currently on an olaparib maintenance drug called Lynparza which helps prevent a recurrence.
I am so grateful to all of you who have supported and continue on this journey with Paul & I. We are truly blessed. We look forward to seeing you and hope you can join us on Sep 8.
