Welcome to My Personal Page!
Friends,
Every year in Canada, there are 3,000 women diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Each of these women is central to a family, every one of these women have people who love her. This year, I am walking for HER.
As you all know, my life and the lives of the rest of my family were forever changed when we lost my mom to ovarian cancer 13 years ago. The past thirteen years have been extremely difficult for my twin sister Cristina and I, my dad, and not to mention all the family and friends who knew my mom. Our mom now has 4 grandsons who she never had the chance to meet. Matteo (10), Cristiano (7), Gabriel (4) and Isaiah (23 months). They will always be reminded how much their Nonna would've loved them.
We have been on a mission to bring awareness to this cause as Ovarian Cancer is the worst form of women's cancer since there are no forms of early detection.
Cristina and I are members of the Ovarian Cancer Society and are trying to help educate women so that they have the knowledge about this serious disease. We are always looking to spread the word and raise funds to look out for wives, mothers, daughters, and sisters. Cristina and I have again formed a team in this year's WALK FOR HOPE – OVARIAN CANCER campaign which takes place on September 8th. Our slogan is "Knowledge is Power".
We will be walking in memory our mom, Esterina Valentinuzzi, who was a school teacher for 35 years. After getting her devastating diagnosis she refused to accept the timeframe they gave her, so she fought for 10 years to ensure she was around for us and bring attention to this cause.
Please help us bring more awareness to this important cause as knowledge is power. Whether you join the walk on September 8th or you contribute, anything will make a difference.
Every dollar we raise supports Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity entirely dedicated to this important cause. Funds will be used to provide support, increase awareness and fund vital research.
THANK YOU,
Stephanie & Cristina Valentinuzzi
