My beautiful sister Megan has been through so much over the last few years and she is gathering a team to walk for awareness and funds for ovarian cancer in September.
She is the caretaker of our family, dropping everything to be with anyone who needs anything, anticipating needs and being the kind of person everyone hopes to have in their corner through any life-changing event, as made evident time and time again, even when going through her own struggles.
I'll be walking with her in September with hopes that in the future, women will not have to fight as hard as she has for basic testing and medical care in the presence of symptoms. In hopes they will be offered a plethora of available options, instead of having to do their own research and make requests for testing, treatment, transfers of care, and plans for followup and preventative care once surgery/chemo/radiation is complete.

Today, thousands of Canadians are living with ovarian cancer and approximately 3,100 will be diagnosed this year. It's time to accelerate progress against ovarian cancer. Enough is enough and I’m determined to improve outcomes for all those affected by the disease.
By participating and fundraising for the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope, I’m making ovarian cancer a priority. I'm funding vital research that will save lives, ensuring educational resources and support programs are available for those who need it, and fueling advocacy efforts because everyone deserves to live life to the fullest.
