This year’s event takes place in-person on Sunday, September 7. If you do not live near a Walk location, we encourage you to register and fundraise for a location that’s important to you. You can connect with your Walk community by joining that locations Facebook group to virtually meet your fellow participants, share your story, and receive exclusive updates.

Whether you’re walking, running, hiking, cycling or taking a route in a wheelchair, your participation and fundraising pushes ovarian cancer research further, faster. Share photos from your Walk on social media tagging @ovariancancercanada on Facebook and Instagram, or @OvarianCanada on X (Twitter) and using the hashtag #WalkofHope.

No, there is no registration fee to participate in Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope. Instead, we ask that you make a self-donation to kick-start your fundraising campaign and demonstrate your commitment to the cause! You will receive a tax receipt for the full amount of your gift (donations must be $20 or more to receive a tax receipt).

Managing donations

We encourage fundraisers and donors to use our secure online system to process gifts online. Donations made online will appear in your fundraising total within a few minutes! This is the best way to ensure an accurate tally. Charitable tax receipts for donations of $20 or more are issued electronically and attached to an email sent to donors immediately following their transaction.

If you do have cash and cheques collected in support of the Walk, please mail the cash and cheques with pledge forms to:

Ovarian Cancer Canada
Attn: Walk
316 4211 Yonge St
Toronto, ON
M2P 2A9

Charitable tax receipts for donations of $20 or more, will be mailed to you no later than February 28 of the following year.

To enter your offline donations in your Participant Centre, beside ‘Personal Donations’ click “Add” and fill out the form with as many details as possible. Your offline donations will be reflected on your personal page thermometer. Please note that these donations will only count towards the national total raised and incentive recognition program (OCC t-shirt) when they are received and verified by Ovarian Cancer Canada so you are encouraged to remit them to OCC for processing as soon as possible

Walk participants may receive cash and cheque donations in addition to online donations. Here are a few tips to manage these gifts:

  1. Sign into your Participant Centre, click the “Add” button beside ‘Personal Donations’ and enter all the available information. Donations entered here will be reflected on your Personal Fundraising Page to show your up-to-date fundraising success.
  2. Download and fill out the pledge form. On the pledge form, please clearly write the donors’ information and all required details. This information is required to ensure each of your donors receive a tax receipt.
  3. Completed pledge form cheque donations can be mailed to the attention of: Ovarian Cancer Canada
    Attn: Walk
    316 4211 Yonge St
    Toronto, ON
    M2P 2A9
  4. Please do not send cash in the mail as it can get lost.
  5. Please note that tax receipts will be issued manually for offline gifts and mailed to donors. Funds generated from hosting an event are not eligible for a tax receipt due to regulations from the Canadian Revenue Agency.

You can find a printable pledge form here.

Have you considered corporate sponsorship or starting a corporate Walk team with your colleagues to represent your workplace? Get everyone involved. Ovarian Cancer Canada will work with you to customize an experience that matches your personal and business objectives.

Take your fundraising even further and highlight your involvement in the community. Many corporations and employers offer matching programs, matching the donations you raise for the Walk. Ask your HR department what’s available.

For more information, please visit our sponsorship page, or contact the Walk team at info@ovariancancerwalkofhope.ca.

There are two ways to donate to a team registered to the Walk. A donation can be made to a team member or directly to the team - both will count towards the overall team total.

  1. Donating to a Team Member: Each Walk participant has their own Personal Fundraising Page where they collect donations. To donate to an individual team member, search for their name, view their Personal Fundraising Page, and click the Donate button. This donation will appear in the participant's personal progress and on the Team Fundraising Page, contributing to both the individual’s and the team’s totals.
  2. Donating to the Team: If you prefer to donate directly to the team as a whole, you can visit the Team Fundraising Page and make your gift there. This donation will appear on the team’s fundraising page and in the Team Captain’s Participant Centre.

Contact the Walk Team at info@ovariancancerwalkofhope.ca for further support.

To celebrate your participation and fundraising success, you will have the opportunity to receive a limited-edition 2025 Walk t-shirt when you raise $250+!

In keeping with Walk tradition, those who have been diagnosed with ovarian cancer will still receive an exclusive teal t-shirt in honour of their journey, to wear in solidarity with one another.*

When you fundraise over $250, or when you register as being diagnosed with ovarian cancer, please wait and allow for 5-10 business days to receive an email with instructions on how to claim and order your free shirt.

*Women who have been diagnosed with ovarian cancer will receive their 2025 Teal T-shirt at no additional cost.

Teal t-shirts are to recognize those living with ovarian cancer. All registered participants who identify as being diagnosed with ovarian cancer will receive a code in their email (please allow 5-10 business days for this) with instructions on how to order their shirt in honour of their journey. These teal t-shirts are provided at no additional cost.

Only registered participants who raise $250 or greater will receive a limited edition 2025 Walk t-shirt.

When and where?

This year’s event takes place both in-person at Walk locations across the country and virtually on Sunday, September 7 (or Saturday, September 6 in Charlottetown, PEI and Annapolis Royal, NS). If there is no Walk location near to you, please register in a location close to your heart, and walk a route of your own choosing.

To join us at an in-person Walk, keep an eye on your email for details and visit your location Walk page for park details, start times, what to expect, and more!

While every effort is made to ensure that Walk locations are accessible, conditions may vary. Please contact the Walk team at info@ovariancancerwalkofhope.ca for further information.

Every effort is made to welcome your furry friends. However, conditions may vary. For those site locations that are dog friendly, the dogs must remain on leash at all times. Please contact the Walk team at info@ovariancancerwalkofhope.ca for further information.

The OCC Walk of Hope is only possible with enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers. We are looking for walk coordinators, committee members, and day-of volunteers across the country.

If you are interested in volunteering at a walk location, or starting your own walk, please contact info@ovariancancerwalkofhope.ca with your name and location.
